ARM: Receiving 9931 Warnings with FlexNet License

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK ARM V4.72 and later

QUESTION

Why do I suddenly receive this message during a program build? I did not see this error yesterday.

[Module_Name].c Warning C9931W: Your borrowed license for Compiler (feature
mdk_std_arm_lcf5) will expire in 7 days

ANSWER

This warning is a reminder from the ARM compiler that displays whenever a manually "Checked Out" FlexNet license is within 7 days of expiring. You should reconnect to your FlexNet license server to set a new expiration date.

Note

  • You may receive similar warnings from the assembler (A9931W) and the linker (L9931W) for the same reason.

You may suppress this warning in your µVision project by entering --diag_suppress=9931 into the Misc Controls text box in Options for Target, C/C++ tab.

To set a new date on your Checked Out license:

  1. Reconnect your PC to your FlexNet license file server.
  2. Click the Check In button to check in your current license.
  3. Click the Check Out button.
  4. Set the new expiration date and click OK.
