SWPACK: LPC2148: no USB-HID detection

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK-ARM Version 5
  • NXP LPC2148

I am using MDK-ARM Version 5 with NXP's LPC2148 connected. Unfortunately the USB interface does not detect a connected HID device.

How can I solve this problem?

The LPC2148 is an ARM7TDMI-S based Microcontroller.

With MDK-5 such devices are not supported with a Device Family Pack, but you have them supported by installing the corresponding ARM7/9/CortexR-Legacy Pack.

Next you find matching example projects for demonstration at:

Build such a project and download it to the chip.

Then dis- and reconnect the USB cable.

With this procedure you will get the HID device recognized.
