SWPACK: fmount() fails with "fsNoFileSystem" for SD high-speed mode

Information in this knowledgebase article applies to:

  • MDK-ARM v5.x.x
  • Kinetis_SDK_DFP v2.1.0

Question

I'm working on a Freescale FRDM-K64F board with the device family pack Kinetis_SDK_DFP v2.1.0 installed. If the high_speed driver mode of SD card is enabled in MCI_MK64F.c, the fmount() function for SD card file system always fails with the error "fsNoFileSystem" returned. How can I fix this issue?

Answer

There is known bug in the device family pack Kinetis_SDK_DFP v2.1.0 concerning the initialization of SDHC->BLKATTR register.

To solve this issue, the newer device family pack Kinetis_SDK_DFP v2.2.0 should be installed. This can be downloaded and installed directly via Pack Installer.
